The singer and his partner Craig Ryder confirmed they are to become parents on Twitter.
Ian wrote: "I'VE BEEN BURSTING TO TELL YOU SOMETHING ….. :0)" and he posted a link to a video the pair had created.
The video showed animated versions if Ian and Craig describing how they had been on lots of adventures over the years, and eventually they announced they are to become parents to twins born via a surrogate next year.
