Bride-To-Be's Wedding Rings Stolen

A bride-to-be has had her wedding rings stolen, shortly after she and her fiancé purchased them.

According to the Liverpool Echo, 23-year-old Samantha Clegg and her partner Mark McGee bought a wedding ring and engagement ring at H Samuel jewellers in St Helens town centre on Monday (8 June). The couple, along with their eight-month-old daughter Eve, then went to lunch oat McDonald's on Church Street. However, Ms Clegg took her daughter to the baby changing facilities before they ate and left the bag containing the rings on top of a hand dryer while she attended to her daughter. She then forgot to lift the bag when she returned to get something to eat. It was only during lunch that she remembered about the rings – which cost £318 – but when she went back to look for them, they had disappeared.

"At about 2pm a report was received that a bag containing jewellery had been taken by an unknown individual having been left unattended in the toilets of McDonald's Restaurant on Church Street."

Anyone with information is asked to contact police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
