1 In 4 Men 'Lose Their Wedding Ring'

A new study has revealed that men are more likely to lose their wedding ring than women.

The research, carried out by insurer Ecclesiastical, found that almost one in four men had lost their wedding ring.

Of the 2,000 UK adults who took part in the survey, some 24% of men admitted to losing the item of jewellery compared to just 14.3% of women.

Interestingly, jewellery was the most common irreplaceable item people were likely to lose, followed by a special photograph or memento.

Commenting on the findings, Sarah Willoughby, Development Director for Ecclesiastical's Fine Art, Antiques, Jewellery and Collections Business, said: "This research provides a fascinating insight into the items that people in the UK treasure, and we know first-hand from our customers how devastating it can be when people lose the things they love most.

"These items mean so much to people because they provide a connection to the people we love and to the magical memories of our past, like jewellery that has been in families for generations or given to us by a loved one."
