NI's Fatal Foetal Abnormalities Group Meets

The Northern Ireland Assembly's working group into fatal foetal abnormalities has held its first meeting, it is understood.

The group was first proposed in February of this year by the then Health Minister Simon Hamilton. However, last month it was revealed that the working group was actually yet to meet.

According to reports, Sinn Féin MLA Catherine Seeley has now received a written answer from Justice Minister Claire Sudgen confirming that she had met with the new Health Minister Michelle O'Neill, and the first meeting of the working group had taken place.

It is thought they agreed the establishment of the interdepartmental working group.

The group is expected to report to both ministers by the end of September.
