1 In 4 Would End Relationship For Round-The-World Holiday

One in four people would end a relationship if it meant they could travel around the world for free, a new study has found. The poll, commissioned by sunshine.co.uk, asked over 1,400 people in the UK, aged 18 and over, what they would be willing to do in return for a luxury round-the-world holiday, free of charge. Each participant was in a long-term relationship, i.e. at least three years.

When questioned about what they would be give up for good in exchange for the trip, with 26% admitting they would be end a long-term relationship with their current partner. This compares to just 16% of people who said they would be willing to give up internet access for good – and 51% who said they would walk out of their dream job for the holiday.

For 5% of respondents, they said they would sacrifice their closest friendship and never speak to that person ever again, while 38% admitted they would be willing to never have sex again if it meant they could have an all-expenses paid, round-the-world trip in return.

Sue Anderson, from sunshine.co.uk, said of the poll results: "It seems there isn't much some people wouldn't do to get their hands on a free, luxury trip around the globe.

"Sadly, we aren't going to be offering such an opportunity to anybody in exchange for some bizarre sacrifices; we really were just curious about how much people would want such a trip.

"Let's be honest, it would be the trip of a lifetime; but we really can't believe that as many as a quarter would be willing to walk out on a long-term relationship for it!"
